[Shefa] Re: A LinkedIn Conversation Sparked by Chancellor Eisen's CJ Blog

This conversation illuminates what makes Conservative Judaism (or any liberal halachic Judaism) different: our definition of halachah is not Orthodox. It is plural where O. is (by premise) unitary, continuous where O. is a step function, humane where O. is (again by premise) "wholly divine." We are halachic by this definition, and those who pine for Orthodoxy *are* probably right to feel a sense of dislocation from their definitions. Ours are different.
